Utah or bust...

So, as you guys might have found out, I'm am going to my cousins wedding this coming weekend. I was supposed to head out on sunday with my grandpa and mom, but my cousin saw the flower cupcakes I made and just had to have them for her wedding. So, they paid to change my flight and I am now going on a plane by myself on wednesday night, to make the cupcakes for her. Now, mind you I haven't seen this family in years, and so I'm just a little nervous to live with them for the few days before "my fam" gets there, but I think I'll be fine once I get comfortable. Also, I seriously hate the security and stuff that you have to go through when flying, and I'm just a little apprehensive about all of it, but I know I can get through it. Anyway, so then we are staying there until the 1st and heading to vegas to have some fun time there. I'm going to be taking tons of pics, I'm totally excited and just can't wait for wednesday; I have never been on a plane by myself before!

Then when I get back, I'm gonna be packing again for a trip to SLO on the 8th. Me and my friend Denise are driving to visit my other friends in cal poly. We're going to stay there until the 11th, and the next day is obviously the big fam get together with all of you! And, then on the 14th I start summer school, but it's not bad because I'm just taking an online class. THEN, on the 15th I'm going to a giants game with my dad and his fam and vince. THEN, I'm going to see Eclipse on the 30th at midnight with denise and my friend kristen. THEN...hahaha just kidding, I don't have anything else planned...yet ;)

So, that is my busy month in a nutshell, lol. Hope everyone is doing well. Oh and, Congratulations Valerie!

"I'm Awesome!"

Hey guys,
So, I just wanted to update with everything that's been going on in my life. I have been doing awesome with weight loss! Just lost another 2 pounds this week, and I am now 5 pounds away from losing 50 pounds!! I'm definitely committed to this, and i can't wait to get to onederland, which is just 11 pounds away for me :)

Also, on facebook, the whole reason I had the blood draw was because I was feeling dizzy all the time. Everytime I got up from my bed or from a chair, the room would spin. So, i got it checked out and the doc said that my heart rate was below 50! So, I got taken off my blood pressure meds that i was taking for my headaches, and got my blood taken to see if i may have hypothyroid and just to see if there was anything wrong with my blood. But, there wasn't anything wrong, thank goodness. The doc said that my blood pressure had lowered because I have lost so much weight, so i guess that's a good thing.

Also, I am going to be taking classes during the summer, so I am going to be very busy. Because, I am still looking for a job one that is preferably in a bakery or something like that, but if not anything to get me some money. Then I am also planning a camping trip with Denise, the next twilight movie and harry potter comes out this summer; so I'm ready to have some fun in the sun :D Hope you all are doing well, talk to ya later!

It's been a while...

So, I weighed-in today and i lost 3 pounds!! I am so close to onederland i can taste it, lol. On easter, I only had one piece of the candy my mom gave me in my easter basket and gave away that bunny cake i made, so i did really good.

Anyway, my life right now hasn't really been eventful. You guys saw that i had the house to myself this past week, and it was awesome! I liked being independent and not having my mom there all the time. It was a real wake up call.

School is going okay, i really hate chemistry! Even though it's my only class this semester, it's like the one class i would rather not take. Labs are cool, but sitting in lecture and trying to understand all the things the teacher is telling us; I just can't get it all in my brain. It goes in one ear and out the other. This summer I'm hoping to take an anthro class and another class, and then take 12 units in the fall that are more interesting classes, haha. But, until may 17th I just have to deal with chem.

Spring Break and more

Hey everyone, so as most of you already know it is my spring break right now, and I am actually lovin' it so far. I have been hanging out with my best friend all the time and we've been havin' a blast. The other day we went and saw alice and wonderland in 3D which was pretty cool, although i really don't like how much they are changing the classics. I also have been trying to clean and organize the house, because it has just been cluttering up for years and I'm tired of the mess. Denise and I are actually going to start a "project" of cleaning out our garage and getting it all organized before our block garage sale on the 20th, so this should be interesting because it's a madhouse in there, lol.

Anyway, so i weighed in today, or rather yesterday and i lost 1.8 pounds. Mind you, that was in a matter of 2 weeks but i totally didn't eat right or exercise the first week. I have been exercising everyday, using my stationary bike or walking and it has given me so much energy. Plus eating more fruits and veggies has really helped too. I can't wait to get to my goal weight, I'm so ready!!

BLAH, BLAH, BLAH!!

Alright, so my birthday was far from what I call a success, but it was fun. Sunday night my grandpa took my mom and I out to dinner. We went to olive garden, YUMMY!! Denise came over monday and we had a nice dinner my mom made, then we went and saw Shutter Island. We thought it was going to be hella scary and we were in the theater by ourselves at first, which made it even scarier, but once we started watching the movie it wasn't so bad. I love how there were so many twists, and Leo was an amazing actor. Anyway, then we came home and had cupcakes that were adorable and stayed up until 5am. We watched stuart from mad tv and listened to hella old music, soooo much laughter. "Look what I can do!" hahahaha So, overall good birthday. (Here are the cupcakes my mom made for me...so cute!)


Yesterday, I went to the biggest loser event, and oh my gosh it was freakin awesome. Everyone should have come. I can't really tell you guys what went down, but if you guess that's okay, lol. It was sooo inspirational.

Anyway, vince's birthday is today and I have said happy birthday to him already but I can say it again...HAPPY BIRTHDAY VINCE!!! The big 22, so freakin crazy!! I can't believe how old we are :) And, congrats monica and steven, FINALLY A BOY!!!!! YAY!!!! :)

Bangs and Binges?

Hey guys so this past week I have been overeating like crazy, not necessarily binging, but eating way over my calories and it feels horrible. It's like in my mind i know i shouldn't have the third slice of pizza or the 5th cookie, but i just do it and my control is just gone. I need to get that control back again, and so I planned with my mom to go shopping and stock up the house so we don't go get fast food anymore and i discussed with my friend denise how we should start walking together everyday. I think i just need someone to do this with me, and my friend is trying to lose weight too, so it should help to get me back on track.

Anyway, on a lighter note, I got bangs on sunday! This picture isn't the greatest, but I just wanted to show you guys what they looked like.
I think i have to play with them a little to see how they'll look in different ways. Well, that's all for now, talk to ya'll later!

Happy V-day!!

Happy V-day/single's awareness day lol. So, I decided to weigh-in this morning and I did actually lose weight!! I've lost 2 pounds so far. Not bad for having a cold the first week i start and then getting my you know what the next week. I say I did pretty well. I went and saw valentine's day with my friend kristen last night, it was hilarious. A little slow in the beginning but got better toward the middle. I made caramel apples this week for mary's work and for the fam, that was so much fun. I love decorating them, drizzling the chocolate, all that. My mom just got me a cupcake decorating book and there are soo many cute cupcake ideas i want to do, i can't wait!! Okay, obviously this is a random blog, because I really have nothing new to say. But, I hope everyone has a great day/night today, love you all!!

Happy Happy Day!!

This post has absolutely nothing to do with weight loss, just to let everyone know. If you're following me on facebook, you would have seen that this past weekend my mom and I painted my entire room. I was definitely in need of a change. The room I had before was a hawaiian theme which was exactly what I wanted at the time, but now it's old and time for a solid!! So, here is the end product...

I'm sooo happy with it and I totally love that color!! Blue makes me so happy, lol.
Anyway, so another exciting event that happened today, I went and talked to my counselor. I told him about not doing the vet thing anymore and going into culinary arts, and I got everything straightened out. He said that I have already done most of the social and behavioral sciences major, and with that I only have 19 units left until I need to graduate!! Which means I only have 2 semesters until I receive my AA from the SRJC!! He said that once I get that then I can just do the culinary arts certificate and takes some business and accounting classes, and I could be set for going into my own shop!!! So, I will graduate by spring 2011 and probably be done with my certificate by 2012 (if everything goes well). Holy freakin crap, you have no idea how happy I am right now!! I was going crazy when I came home from the appointment, I mean the counselor already gave me the petition to graduate, even though I don't need it yet, but still it gets me soo excited!!! Annnnddd, on top of all this my birthday is in 3 weeks, 20 baby!! Okay, that's all I got, talk to ya soon, bye!!

It's February!!

Hey guys!
Okay, so I weighed-in today and I actually gained 2 pounds! It's not that big of a surprise to me, since this past month I have been eating really crappy and not exercising at all. I don't really know if i gained the 2 pounds or lost anything, because this week I did eat very well, so it may have been that I gained during the first part of this month and because I just weighed-in it looks like I gained (if that makes sense). Anyway, I think once this cold subsides I will start exercising again, but for now I am just going to eat the right things.

As for my life in general, it is pretty overwhelming right now. More with school than anything else. I finally made an appointment with my counselor, because I need to talk to him about not doing the vet tech certificate anymore. And, I know you guys may be shocked when I say this, but I am also rethinking the entire veterinarian thing as a career choice. I feel like these classes I have been taking at the JC have given me some insight toward being a vet, and I have to say, that I don't think I would be happy in that career. I feel like working with the animals would be fun, but at the same time I wouldn't really want to do it everyday.

Now, I know this may seem weird, but I have sort of narrowed down my options to a career in baking. The only thing is I don't know what i should do now while I am at the JC, that's why the counselor is needed. And, I also feel that I love baking. I know I would probably have to go into culinary classes, but i like cooking too and i would definitely rather be doing something I love than something I feel I have to do. The veterinary career was something I felt I had to do for the future. I would get better money and I would be pleasing my family, but I know how to save money and family should be happy with whatever I choose. So, this is my choice and I'm finally getting it out there. New Idea...

I think I am going to start blogging more often, and making this my weight loss blog. I am still doing You Tube videos to keep me on track, but i only make them at the end of each month because it takes too much time. But, I think it will be easy for me to write a little blog each week on how I'm doing with my weight. I will still write about what's going on in my life, because everyone knows that I love to vent, but I just think this will help keep me on track.

I have lately been maintaining at the same weight for the past couple months now, and I'm ready to get my butt in gear and lose the rest of this weight. I need to lose about 60-65 pounds in order to get to my official goal weight, and I am soooo ready! This past weekend I made a list of reminders and goals such as drinking 8 glasses of water a day or exercising at least 3 times a week, and i posted it up on a wall in my room so i can see it everyday. I also started doing exercises this weekend: riding the staionary bike for 20min., working out on the fitness ball for 10min., and doing whatever with my weights. I wrote all those exercises down, plus walking because that's another exercise I love to do, and posted that paper next to the goal paper. I plan to do these exercises on tuesday, thursday, and saturday, because those days i have more time.

Another thing i did to keep me in control, was put a post-it note in the food cabinet and on the fridge, one saying " Don't do it Amanda" and the other saying "You don't need it." And, you're probably laughing at me for doing that, but i have a really bad problem controlling myself when there are yummy snacks in the house. I plan on substituting those snacks with fruits and vegetables, because i don't get enough of those in a day.

Anyway, so this is my plan, or rather my lifestyle change, and im definitely determined. Just like my blog states, "the struggles im facing, the chances im taking...it's all about the climb." I'm climbing my way to happiness and healthiness, and im ready! :)
